Dear Friend, You can make a difference, TODAY! Its that time of the year when we make our annual appeal. This year we need your support more than ever. As you are well aware many of our costs are rising at a far greater rate than our funding and we must increasingly rely upon the support of our generous friends and families. We have made a concerted effort this year to be much more aggressive in our fund-raising endeavors. Let me describe some of our accomplishments of the year. During the past 33 weeks we have been featured in our local newspapers 33 times! We feel strongly that the more people know about the important work we do, the more they will want to become supporters. We sponsored our First Annual Wine Tasting at Black Bear Wine & Spirits in April. This was the first event we have done in recent years, and it was both a lovely night and very successful. This energized us to plan the second major event of the year. On November 3rd we had our First Annual Fall Fashion Show with the women served by CLASP featured as the models. This groundbreaking event went better than any of us could have ever expected. Concurrently we have been working for the past six months on our largest event. We will be the host of The Taste of Westport at the Westport Inn on 05/05/05! We have approximately twelve A list restaurants fully committed, with a good six on the list of strongly interested. We are very proud of how much work has already been done. This will be a terrific evening! The reason I tell you this is to be sure you know that we are doing everything in our power to tap into new and diverse resources. Last year we raised $221,000 and this years budget calls for us to bring in $310,000. This is a large increase but we believe with your generosity and these new events we can meet or even exceed our goal! The artist who painted the picture to the right is Gillian Colhoun. Please give generously, and perhaps be inspired by the quotes below! Warm wishes, Tracy A. Flood |

As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled.
Victor Hugo Real generosity towards the future lies in giving all to the present. Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. Generosity is giving more than you can, and Charity should begin at home, but should not stay there.
